The Bloomington Greco Club qualified 3
individuals to represent Team Illinois at the Asics Jr. national
Greco Tournament in Fargo, North Dakota in July. The Raiders
crowned two State Greco Champions in sophomore 105 lb. cadet Jake Bellis, and junior 119 pounder Tom Cole. The two were joined
by Bloomington sophomore Dane Thornton, runner-up at cadet 285.
Placing third were Raider senior Jake Lehr at junior 160 and eighth
grader David Watts at cadet 130. Finishing 4th were sophomore Armand Ontiveros at cadet 160, freshman Freddie Mariani at
cadet 112 and sixth grader Steven Bradford at Novice 75.
Rounding out the places for Bloomington was Novice 80 pounder DD
Watts in 5th. Other competitors from Bloomington included
Juniors Chris
Hale (171), Tyler Hernandez (145), cadet Ryan Strange (145) and
schoolboy Bracky Kruse (98).
